Black Belt Salsa (BBS)

BBS is based on the martial art belt system of progression. This system was designed to reduce the stressors placed on the leaders and followers by approaching Salsa in a fun and non-intimidating fashion.
Black Belt Salsa classes are taught in 4-week cycles:
Begin at White Belt level and earn stripes or belts with the completion of each 4-week cycle.
Promotion to higher level (belts) as student demonstrates proficiency.
Imagine after your first lesson you are ready to take yourself to the club and dance.

Because it’s a standardized system and has been launched in the US and in several countries. No matter where you move to if there is a BBS school in the area, you can pick up where you left off. No need to start over and spend money that could be put to better use. There is no partner necessary (but always encouraged). All are welcome.
BLACK BELT SALSA (BBS) IS A SYSTEM OF ONGOING PROGRESSIVE PROFESSIONAL TRAINING THAT WILL EQUIP YOU WITH THE KNOWLEDGE, DEPTH, AND BACKGROUND NECESSARY TO LEARN AND TEACH PARTNER DANCING WITH CONFIDENCE THROUGHOUT THE WORLD. THE BBS ENTERPRISE IS A WORLDWIDE TEAM OF SCHOOLS APPLYING A SHARED SYSTEM OF DANCE TRAINING USING THE MARTIAL ARTS "PROGRESSIVE AWARDS SYSTEM" AND ONLINE "TURN-KEY" TECHNOLOGY.
BBS is not LA Style – it is a combination of MANY styles taught throughout the world. It is less “forceful” than LA Style. It is more elegant and refined … much like NY Style. It has the “feminine/masculine” essence of Cuban and the “fun and ease” of Cumbia Style.
It is VERY European at this point. WHY? Because for the past 20 years, the Europeans who appreciate “The Arts” have hired the World’s best dancers from all across the globe to teach them. Why would I as an instructor want to be affiliated with Black Belt Salsa System?
The BBS™ (combined with the DBM™) is specifically designed to help you "exit" from your existing business, retire, or start another business elsewhere, while still earning the same if not MORE $$while you are there.
Every Instructor starts with:
Purple and Blue Belt series. Every belt level takes approximately 24 - 36 hours to complete. Once the instructor completes a level, required time must be taken between belts to commence the next so that the information may be applied to their studios in real-world situations.
Each Belt Level comes with Reference Manuals on how to understand not only the system, but how to teach in the most professional and effective manner. The instructors who graduate are now revered as some of the World's Finest instructors. Why? Student comprehension, and more importantly "retention" - all due to the systematic approach of the progressive nature of the BBS syllabus.
The "business management" side of the entire Enterprise is now a completely separate course and system, called "Dance Business Management (DBM)™. It is not a mandatory requirement for the Lower Belt Levels. However to earn your BBS™website, and to further your education beyond Red Belt, the DBM becomes a critical component of the system.Why would I as an Instructor, want my Purple and Blue Instructor Belts?

Is the gateway to Baila Conmigo, L.L.C. (BC) ... Instruction in Salsa and other Latin Dances. A blend of creative energy, fun, style and bold advances in Latin Dance. It is build upon the Black Belt System of Dance founded by Edie "The Salsa Freak" Williams and continues to push the envelope in developing the best dance instructors and students in the world.
Men will develop solid leads in unison with ladies being taught proper following techniques, pivot mechanics (in order to perfect spinning with or without a partner), and balance while in motion. The classes are structured with emphasis on the basics as you move through the cycles (belts or levels), building strong fundamentals as you progress will allow you to express yourself freely to the music on the dance floor.

We provide instruction in Salsa On 1, Salsa On 2, Bachata, Cha-Cha, and Merengue
Salsa On 1 and Salsa On 2
Three (3) sub categories within the three primary levels taught (Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced):
CT or LA Style Salsa ON 1 or
Eddie Torres NY Style ON2 Salsa/Mambo.
Instruction in the basic foundational steps of Salsa; designed to get you on the dance floor (dancing Salsa) as soon as possible. Whether you’ve never danced, learned to dance with your parents, with friends or on the feet of your family members this is the level that will bring you into the new millennium of Salsa. All you need is a willingness to learn and the confidence to step through the front door.
These levels are not designed to impact you negatively, but are designed to reward your hard work and effort in this discipline of dance.
